FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: vehicle parallel parking system comprises user input of parking parameters selection to determine allowable size of target parking space, parking assistance system for detecting target parking spaces and automatic turn of vehicle during parallel parking manoeuvre. One or more selections of parking parameters include selection of vehicle speed level during parallel parking manoeuvre and selection of collision avoidance level with object that is variable and allows contact between vehicle and certain types of objects.
EFFECT: system allows performing parallel parking manoeuvre on target parking space with minimum required action of driver with satisfaction of driver comfort levels.
