FIELD: navigation systems.
SUBSTANCE: method for assessing a parking area for parking a vehicle is disclosed. Method comprises scanning the parking area with ultrasonic sensors to obtain ultrasonic data. Parking area is scanned with radar sensors to obtain radar data. Computer is used to identify a first object as a probable curb, if the first object is identified only by ultrasonic data, and to determine whether to accept or reject the parking space, based on both ultrasonic data and radar data. Vehicle is parked in response to accepting the parking space. Invention discloses a vehicle.
EFFECT: higher reliability and safety.
