SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of control and diagnostics of electric spark ignition systems (ESIS) of internal combustion engine (ICE) or ICE bank with number of cylinders 2÷6. Said technical result is achieved by the fact that the proposed discharge discharger includes 8 spark gaps, through which the spark discharge is sequentially moved, which forms the light effect of the traveling discharge. This provides simple and fast visual perception, identification, predictability, prediction and evaluation of spark discharges, which enables reliable determination of the technical state of the diagnosed ESIS and accurate technical diagnosis.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reliable assessment of technical condition of ESIS on such diagnostic features as presence and value of high-voltage (HV) energy, presence of passes of spark discharges, conformity of sequence and rhythmicity of movement of spark discharge to the order of operation of cylinders, presence of parasitic and accidental discharges, unscheduled transitions of spark discharges between cylinders, breakdown of HV of spark plug insulations, breakdown of spark plug insulating tips, ignition modules and individual ignition coils and drain of HV along their inner surface to ICE "mass".
