FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser equipment. Device for optical pumping of solid-state laser-active element for amplification of optical radiation performs introduction of pumping energy into laser-active medium from sides of active element. Pumping energy is injected successively and transverse-longitudinally from both sides by arranging two reflectors made in the form of isosceles rectangular prisms of different sizes on the lateral sides of the rectangular optical element on opposite sides. Ratio of dimensions of length of laser-active element to size of cross-section of pumping radiation is equal to integer, starting from two. Isosceles rectangular prisms are offset relative to each other by the size of the pumping cross section and adjoin one of the end faces of the optical element.

EFFECT: possibility of obtaining high power and energy, with relative simplicity of the device.
