FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of recycling heat during oxidative dehydrogenation of butene to butadiene, involving: passing a feed stream containing butene, together with steam and preheated air into an oxidative dehydrogenation reactor; oxidising dehydrogenation of said feed stream over a dehydrogenation catalyst in said oxidative dehydrogenation reactor to form a product stream containing butadiene; passing said product stream from the oxidative dehydrogenation reactor to a heat exchanger for cooling said product stream to produce a cooled product stream; passing said cooled product stream to the quenching tower to form a cooled stream with low water content and condensed water stream; and passing said condensed water stream into separation drum to form steam flow, circulating water stream and a separate offtake stream containing hydrocarbons and oxygenates. Invention also relates to a method of producing steam.
EFFECT: disclosed is heat utilization in a method of producing butadiene.
