FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medical equipment, namely to electrodes for functional mapping of hidden cortical formations. Electrode comprises current conducting elements and non-conducting housing. Current-conducting elements include working contact, wire and connector contact. Housing comprises working and non-working parts. Working part has two sides, is made flexible, includes reinforcing component and measuring scale. Beginning of the measurement scale is located at the distal end of the housing. Nonworking part comprises cable and/or handle. Active surface of each working contact is located on one side of working part of housing. Shape and sizes of working contacts and inter-contact distances provide coverage of the structures to be marked with the required number of working contacts. Gaps between outer edges of working contacts and body edges are minimum or absent. In another version of the electrode design, the beginning of the measurement scale is located on the proximal or distal end of the housing. Active surface of each working and connector contact is located on one side of the working part of the housing. Working and connector contacts correspond to each other in shape, dimensions and intercontact distance. Intercontact distance provides coverage of the structures to be marked with a required number of working or connector contacts. In another version of the electrode design, the measuring scale has a reference point on the distal end of the housing and is bent along the rib. Active surface of working contacts is located on one side of working part of housing.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of functional mapping of hidden cortical formations and other hard-to-access areas of the cerebral cortex.
