SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to anaesthesiology-resuscitation, and can be used in thoracic, abdominal surgery. Carry out cardio-respiratory testing. Cardio-respiratory testing involves a veloergometric test in the form of a three-step physical load. First stage of physical activity is 50 W for 3 minutes. Second load stage is 75 W for 2 minutes. Third load stage is 100 W for 1 minute. After each load step, the patient is given rest until the initial BP and HR values are restored. Before and after the test, energy demand and arteriovenous (a-v) difference in oxygen are determined. Combined achievement of energy requirement values from 1.14 to 1.92 kcal/min and a-v difference in oxygen from 60 to 107 ml of O2/1,000 ml of blood indicate threshold of tolerance to load, which makes it possible to separate morphofunctional operability on load I stage as low, at load II stage as medium and at III load stage as high.

EFFECT: method enables safe determination of preoperative operability ensured by performing three-stage cardiovascular testing and evaluating complex of the most significant indicators.
