FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to production of monophase intermetallic alloys, and can be used in nuclear, power, aircraft and aerospace industry as base composite materials for production of articles and coatings operating in high temperatures. Method of producing monophase intermetallic titanium-based alloy includes mechanical activation treatment of mixture of aluminum and titanium powders, seal, heating the mixture of aluminum and titanium powders with a high-frequency electromagnetic field and holding at said temperature for a time corresponding to formation of the intermetallic alloy of the given composition. After mechanical activation treatment one performs irradiation of aluminum mixture in amount of 36 wt% and titanium in amount of 64 wt% with gamma-quanta of cobalt-60 source with intensity of 98 Gy/s, heating with high-frequency electromagnetic field is performed to temperature of 1,100–1,350 °C, and holding at this temperature is carried out for 2–7 minutes.
EFFECT: obtaining monophase intermetallic TiAl alloy of specified composition with high degree of uniformity of structural components throughout the alloy.
