FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technique of forming electron beams of subnanosecond duration and can be used in designing subnanosecond electron accelerators of the megavolt range. These accelerators are widely used to determine time resolution of nanosecond detectors of pulses of electronic and deceleration radiation, as well as high-speed measurement channels, obtaining ultrashort light flashes, etc. Subnanosecond electron accelerator comprises a source of nanosecond high-voltage pulses, to which an oil-filled shaper is connected, which includes series-arranged coaxial forming line, decoupling line, short accumulation line, transmitting line and accelerating tube, shaper is fixed on source housing, internal conductors of forming and decoupling lines, as well as short accumulating and transmitting lines are separated by discharge gaps. Shaper is detachable and is separated from the source by an insulator, on which a forming line is fixed, the shaper housing is divided into split sections of two types, adjacent sections of the first type, in which the forming and decoupling lines are located, are electrically connected by cylindrical collets, sections of the second type, in which the transmitting line is located, are electrically connected with their ends pressed against each other with contact along the annular surface, on the cylindrical collets of one of the sections of the first type, two insulators are fixed, on which the inner conductors of the decoupling and short accumulating lines are installed, transmitting line at the output is electrically connected to the accelerating tube by means of collet, unions are installed on the shaper housing for transverse pumping of oil through discharge gaps.

EFFECT: expansion of operational capabilities due to reduction of time pauses between inclusions, simplicity of service, as well as possibility of rapid adjustment of the former structure in order to change parameters of the accelerator.
