FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a subnanosecond electron accelerator. Device comprises a nanosecond high-voltage pulse source, a gas filled generator of subnanosecond voltage pulses and an acceleration tube. Shaper housing is detachable and consists of two sections, between which an insert is tightly installed, on which an inner conductor of the second forming line is fixed by means of a conical hollow insulator, insert is connected to the second section by means of alignment elements with provision of mutual radial beats of conductors of the second forming line of not more than 0.2 mm, in the first section the first forming line is located, in the second section there is a transmitting line and an accelerating tube, the transmitting line is made with a pulse travel time of 0.3–0.5 ns and with a wave resistance within range of 40–80 Ohm, internal conductor of the transmitting line on the section adjacent to the tube insulator contains a biconical radial projection, the cutting gap is formed between the protrusion and the rod electrode installed opposite the projection.
EFFECT: broader operational capabilities of the accelerator with retention of its output parameters by reducing the length of the former, increasing ease of maintenance and reliability of operation in the presence of vibrations and other destabilizing factors, as well as due to improved coaxiality of conductors of second forming line.
