FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to methods of cutting pipes on strip workpiece. It can be used in processing of dismantled main pipes of oil and gas pipelines into long products without steel making. Pipe is cut along helical line by disk knives with preliminary local heating at speed 350÷850 °C/s to temperature of 460÷670 °C cutting zone by concentrated source of heat energy with subsequent cutting of cut strip blank to intake drum.
EFFECT: expansion of technological capabilities, reduction of power consumption.
