FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry when producing adsorbents, catalysts for hydrogenation of organic compounds with hydrogen gas. To obtain nickel oxide as initial compound nickel nitrate is used in form of crystalline hydrate of Ni(NO3)2⋅6H2O, mechanically mixed with NH4NO3 ammonium nitrate in a weight ratio of 2:1 to 2:5, respectively. Then, the obtained mechanical mixture is thermally treated. For this purpose, mixture is first heated to 125÷135 °C, obtained melt is held at 60÷70 minutes at this temperature. Temperature is then raised to 230÷240 °C and held 8÷9 hours. Further, temperature is raised to 285÷290 °C and held at 60÷70 min. Temperature is then increased to 470÷480 °C and maintained until termination of weight change of nickel oxide.
EFFECT: invention increases specific surface area of nickel oxide particles, increases catalytic and adsorption activity of reduced nickel, reduces preparation time, amount of wastes and amount of used water.
