FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear instrument-making and can be used in radiation monitoring as a portable means of searching and determining the direction of a photon radiation source from two angular coordinates in solid angle 2π steradian. Device comprises a video camera, a housing, a protective screen, a high-voltage converter, a detector assembly of three identical scintillation counters, a controller, a display, a matching module and an accumulator unit. All units and modules of device are arranged in one housing. Protective shield is formed by three rectangular plates with semi-cylindrical ends, wherein plates are located at angle of 120 degrees to each other, as well as plate in form of ball segment covering half area of frontal end surfaces of scintillation crystals. Information on the position of the photon radiation source is superimposed on the video image of the investigated area in the form of a cross-shaped mark.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption of the device, as well as its weight and dimensions.
