FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the continuous steel casting. Billet with cross-section area of not more than 120 cm2 is pulled out of continuous-casting machine casting mold, swinging with reduced upward movement speed. Swinging of the casting mold is performed with amplitude of 13–18 mm, frequency of 70–150 cycles/min and coefficient of nonsinusoidality of 0.55–0.8.
EFFECT: higher capacity of the continuous-casting machine, reduced loads on the casting mold and swinging mechanism of the casting mold, as well as higher quality of the surface of the continuous cast billet.
