FIELD: wireless communication equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mobile communication. A radio access network (RAN) node is configured to communicate with one or more mobile stations. RAN node transmits, to one or more mobile stations, EC-SI extended coverage information system message over EC-BCCH extended coverage control broadcast channel, wherein the transmitted EC-SI message relates to a set of currently transmitted EC-SI messages including EC-IS type 1 message, SI-SI type 2 message, type 3 EC-SI message and type 4 EC-SI message, wherein the transmitted EC-SI message includes a bit map which indicates which of the one or more said messages has been modified since the previously transmitted set of EC-SI messages.

EFFECT: reduced power consumption, which prolongs service life of the mobile station battery.
