FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to experimental medicine and can be used in simultaneous diagnostics and therapy of oncological diseases. That is ensured by transplantation of tumor cells into an animal's body, followed by intratumoral or intravenous introduction of a suspension of nanoparticles of silicon of size 25±5 nm, consisting of crystalline silicon core, coated with amorphous shell of silicon dioxide, obtained by plasma chemical method and having up to 1019 Pb-centers. Concentration of silicon nanoparticles in suspension is 0.3–0.5 mg/ml. Diluted water or physiologic saline is used to prepare suspension of silicon nanoparticles. That is followed by magnetic resonance imaging of the animal's body at the frequency of hydrogen atoms in the measurement mode T2 of weighted pulse train. Presence of a tumor is diagnosed on the basis of results of the visual analysis of the received images and tumor growth inhibition is then observed.
EFFECT: method provides high diagnostic reliability and enables effective suppression of tumor growth by using silicon nanoparticles which are not cytotoxic.
