FIELD: image processing means.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image processing device and method. Image processing device includes a decoding unit, a setting unit and an inverse quantisation unit. Decoding unit decodes an encoded stream to generate quantised data. Setting unit sets current quantisation matrix in accordance with a parameter indicating whether to use same quantisation matrix as reference quantisation matrix selected in accordance with type of reference quantisation matrix, which includes a combination of prediction mode and colour component. Inverse quantisation unit performs reverse quantization of quantised data, generated by decoding unit, using current quantisation matrix set by setting unit.

EFFECT: technical result is preventing reduction of efficiency of encoding images due to reduced frequency of updating quantisation matrix.
