FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ionizing radiation measurement equipment. Essence of the invention is that the method of determining the output value of thermonuclear neutrons of the pulse source further comprises steps of counting the number of current pulses in the selected time interval, calibrating the detector immediately before taking measurements from the reference pulse source, for which the detector relative to the reference source is installed at a distance corresponding to its location when performing measurements with a pulse source, using a neutron output measurement device with a known error, which is set at a given distance from the reference source in the passport, then repeatedly reading readings from detector and this device to achieve relative error of determining actual sensitivity of detector to neutron radiation in real geometry and actual climatic conditions of measurement at level of not more than ±15 % with confidence probability P=0.95, which is taken into account as a constant coefficient when determining the output of neutrons of the pulse source.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining neutron output.
