Oral care composition contains an effective amount of the basic amino acid in the free or salt form - arginine in amount of 3 wt. % to 10 wt. %, basic amino acid weight is calculated on free base form; effective amount of mixture containing 1 wt. % zinc oxide and 0.5 wt. % of zinc citrate in terms of weight of composition for oral care; benzyl alcohol in amount of 0.6 wt. % to 0.9 wt. % in terms of weight of the oral care composition; tetrasodium pyrophosphate in amount of 0.5 wt. % and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose in amount of 0.6 wt. % in terms of weight of the composition for oral care.
