FIELD: radar ranging and radio navigation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar ranging and can be used in automated systems for controlling, transmitting and exchanging information in automated radar systems. To achieve the technical result, the method of cognitive processing of radar information comprises the following actions. After obtaining radar information from various sources of a priori information, the operator decides on the presence in a certain area of space of the object of interest and takes this area of space for accompaniment, automatic radar plotting system is switched on, after its switching on selected area is assigned number and status, then the cognitive analyzer generates a radar scene on which all areas of the space in which the escorted and new objects are expected to be found, each new object is assigned a new signal on each subsequent view until all library signals are used, after using all signals, a statistical form of region or object is generated, in which data on characteristics of reflection of a specific object are indicated when probing with a specific signal, after the search of all signals from the library is completed, the optimum signal is selected based on the criterion of the maximum response amplitude and its tracking is performed with successive formation of the radar scene for the next survey or for transmitting the command to the antenna station.

EFFECT: broader functional capabilities of radar systems owing to provision for adaptation to the environment in order to maximize informativity of the radar scene.
