FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing ammonium polyvanadate from a highly concentrated vanadium-containing solution. Method comprises the following steps: a) taking a highly concentrated vanadium-containing solution, heating it to temperature of 65 to 85 °C, adjusting the pH to values of 6.5 to 8.5, adding the ammonium salt and stirring until complete dissolution; b) heating water or supernatant fluid obtained during precipitation of vanadium to temperature of 80 to 90 °C, adding therein a vanadium-containing powder and adjusting the pH to values ranging from 2.0 to 3.0; wherein the vanadium-containing powder is at least one of ammonium polyvanadate, ammonium metavanadate, vanadium pentoxide or vanadium trioxide; and the amount of vanadium containing powder added is 16–20 times greater than the product of trioxuvanadate content in the highly concentrated vanadium-containing solution per volume of the highly concentrated vanadium-containing solution; c) slowly adding, while stirring, the solution obtained in step a) to the solution obtained in step b) while maintaining the pH value in range of 2.0 to 3.0 during addition; wherein rate of slow addition of solution ranges from 15 to 25 ml/min; and d) are allowed to react for time of 5 to 30 minutes after adding solution from step a) and then filtered and washed to produce ammonium polyvanadate.
EFFECT: disclosed method enables to effectively solve the problem of precipitation of vanadium from highly concentrated vanadium-containing solution and increases content of trioxavanadate in vanadium-containing solution intended for precipitation of vanadium to 40–110 g/l.
