METHOD FOR PAIN SYNDROME PREVENTION AFTER KNEE JOINT INTERVENTIONS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B17/56

Abstract RU 2701571 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopedics and is intended for use directly after operations, including endoprosthesis on knee joints. Immediately after suturing the postoperative wound and applying the aseptic dressing, the lumbar spine is treated with antiseptic solutions. Projection of the lumbar spines at the level of L2-L5 is performed on the operated and further on the symmetrical side. For each injection, a mixture of glucocorticosteroids 0.5 ml and 2 ml of 2 % Lidocaine is used. Total volume of the glucocorticosteroid is therefore 1 ml, which is the standard dosage for injections. Places of injection are sealed for prevention with an aseptic plaster. In the postoperative period, anesthetics are used if necessary in the first several days of hospital treatment. Doses of the analgesic preparations are significantly reduced compared to the traditional methods of postoperative anesthesia, which is ensured by the anti-stress effect of the GCS. After 6–7 days, the above procedure of simultaneous injections of GCS and anesthetic is repeated.

EFFECT: method enables preventing postoperative complications of knee joint interventions, reducing the dosage of anesthetic preparations and preserving the possibility of using immediate anticoagulants at the postoperative early stages.
