FIELD: mechanical processing of paper and cardboard.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and device for deep drawing of a tray from sheet material. Method of deep drawing of tray from sheet material selected from group, which is paper, thick paper, cardboard, coated with polymer paper or cardboard, paper or cardboard coated with metal foil, metal and composite material of metal and polymer, at that the method includes the following stages: (i) providing folding lines on the sheet material in the transverse direction relative to the periphery of the tray being made, (ii) placing sheet material having a bending line between the female molding tool, which includes a cavity for forming the bottom of the tray from the outside, and a male molding tool which includes a plunger for forming a tray bottom from the inside, (iii) clamping sheet material along said tray periphery by means of female and male molding tools to hold material during deep drawing step, (iv) moving the plunger with respect to the cavity for forming the tray bottom so as to obtain a final trough, wherein between cavity bottom and clamping junction surface male molding tool is kept at a distance laterally from sheet material to allow bending lines to define formation of folds of sheet material forming sidewall of end chute, in open space created by said laterally spaced male molding tool, wherein said open space is located inside formed sidewall.

EFFECT: technical result is prevention of wrinkling.
