FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing O-methyloxime (E)-(5,6-dihydro-1,4,2-dioxazin-3-yl)(2-hydroxyphenyl)methanone, which includes (i) a reaction of O-methyloxime benzofuran-3(2H)-one (1) with one nitrite selected from n-butyl nitrite and tert-butyl nitrite in the presence of a metal alkoxide selected from lithium alkoxide, sodium alkoxide, potassium alkoxide, rubidium alkoxide, cesium alkoxide, obtaining a composition, where one isomer predominates, and O3-methyl dioxime(2Z, 3Z)-2,3-benzofurandione (2) is basic isomer

(ii) reaction O3-methyldioxime(2Z, 3Z)-2,3-benzofurandione (2) with 2-halogenethanol, obtaining O2-(2-hydroxyethyl)O3-methyl dioxime(2Z, 3Z)-benzofuran-2,3-dione (3)

and (iii) reaction of O2- (2-hydroxyethyl) O3-methylenedimine(2Z, 3Z)-benzofuran-2,3-dione (3) with an acid to obtain O-methyloxime (E)-(5,6-dihydro-1,4,2-dioxazin-3-yl)(2-hydroxyphenyl)methanone (4)

EFFECT: technical result is a novel method of producing O-methyloxime (E)-(5,6-dihydro-1,4,2-dioxazin-3-yl)(2-hydroxyphenyl) methanone, which is an intermediate compound for producing fluoxastrobin used in agriculture for combating fungal diseases and pests.
