FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy of titanium-based alloys intended for fabrication of hull structures of nuclear power plants with water heat carrier. High-strength titanium-based alloy for making structural structures of nuclear power reactors with water heat carrier contains, wt %: aluminum 4.0–4.5; molybdenum 1.5–2.5; zirconium 18.0–21.0; chromium ≤ 0.003; nickel ≤ 0.005, cobalt ≤ 0.0008; iron ≤ 0.014; silicon ≤ 0.006; carbon ≤ 0.006; nitrogen ≤ 0.005; oxygen < 0.05; copper ≤ 0.005; titanium – the rest. Total content of aluminum and zirconium is equal to 22.0–25.0 wt %, total content of nickel, chromium, copper, cobalt and iron does not exceed 0.02 wt % and total content of carbon, oxygen and nitrogen does not exceed 0.05 wt %.
EFFECT: alloy is characterized by high strength and ductility in initial state and after prolonged neutron irradiation.
