FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline by condensation of aniline with acetone in presence of a heterogeneous catalyst, characterised by that catalyst used is micro-meso-macroporous zeolite H-Y-MMM and reaction is carried out at temperature 60–230 °C, catalyst concentration 5–20 % and reaction time of 6–23 hours.
EFFECT: novel method of producing 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline, which is widely used in production of highly effective medicinal preparations, chelating agents, sorbents, cyan dyes, is widely used in synthesis of fungicides, pesticides, alkaloids, etc.
