FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing quinolines by catalytic heterocyclisation of aniline and aldehydes (propionic, butyric), characterized in that the catalyst used is a granular hierarchical zeolite Ymmm in an H-form in amount of 10–20 wt.%. with respect to the initial reagent mixture and reaction is carried out at 20–180 °C for 6 hours in a solution of chlorobenzene, molar ratio of aniline:aldehyde = 1:1–3.

EFFECT: method simplifies synthesis of quinoline derivatives and reduces energy and material consumption of the heterocyclisation process.
