SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for synthesising 2,4,6-trimethylpyridine by gas-phase catalytic condensation of acetone with ammonia and an oxygen-containing compound, wherein ethanol is used as an oxygen-containing compound, a granular hierarchical zeolite Y in the H-form H-Ymmm is used as a catalyst, the reaction is executed at a molar ratio of ethanol:acetone:ammonia equal to 1-2:1-2:1.5 at a temperature of 200 to 400°C, atmospheric pressure, a raw material supply volume velocity of 2 to 7 h-1.
EFFECT: development of a new method for synthesising 2,4,6-trimethylpyridine with high yield using granular zeolite catalyst with a hierarchical porous structure H-Ymmm.
