FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to artillery mounts. Device for reducing the impact of the recoil pulse of a firearm mounted on the apparatus has a casing with a brake-compensator and is located in the zone of muzzle of the barrel of the weapon. On the brake-compensator openings for powder gases are made, the rear row of windows of the brake-compensator is covered by the barrel of the weapon and opens when it is rolled back. Method of reducing the impact of recoil momentum of a firearm fixed on an apparatus includes shooting, occurrence of a recoil pulse I1, acting on installation, at that part of powder gases expires in brake-compensator, in which during the barrel recoil the extreme row of windows is additionally opened and pulse I2 appears from pressure of powder gases, acting in opposite recoil momentum I1 direction, which leads to reduction of resultant recoil pulse I3, acting on the plant.
EFFECT: technical result is reduced impact of recoil of firearms on installation, possibility of using device on light carriers, such as aircraft and helicopters, boats, etc.
