FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry, particularly to double-stranded ribonucleic acid (dsRNA) for inhibiting expression of TMPRSS6, as well as to a composition thereof. Also disclosed is a conjugate for inhibiting the expression of TMPRSS6 consisting of double-stranded ribonucleic acid (dsRNA) and a ligand. Invention also relates to a method of inhibiting expression of TMPRSS6 in a cell, as well as to a method of treating a mediated disorder by TMPRSS6 expression involving use of said dsRNA.
EFFECT: invention enables effective treatment of an individual having elevated serum iron levels.
