SUBSTANCE: invention relates to telecommunication and information technologies and can be used for noise-immune encoding and decoding when transmitting information over channels with errors. Method comprises steps of transmitting arithmetic coding of next part of information sequence with length k≥1 bit, separating the current interval of arithmetic coding of length D>2 to the current subinterval of coding the zero symbol and to the current sub-interval of coding the single symbol, from which the current permitted sub-interval of coding with length Dβ≥1, length of which is selected as Dβ=β⋅D, where noise immunity coefficient β selected within 0<β<1, and setting current interval of arithmetic coding equal to current permitted interval of encoding with length Dβ, at the receiving side, storing and continuing no more than Z≥2 alternative received sequences, arithmetically decoded with control of conformity of current value of received sequence to current permitted sub-decoding, with decoding delay T≥2, an alternative received sequence with the least metric value is selected and the next part of the recovered information sequence decoded from it is transmitted to the recipient.

EFFECT: high noise-immunity of transmitting next portions of the encoded sequence when multiple transmission errors occur.
