FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to telecommunication and information technologies and can be used for noise-immune encoding and decoding when transmitting information over channels with errors. Method comprises steps of transmitting, at a transmitting side, a next portion of an information sequence (IS), from the current arithmetic coding interval, the current sub-intervals of coding zero and single symbols are selected, from which depending on the previously coded IS symbols, the allowed sub-intervals of coding are selected, in accordance with which performing the arithmetic coding of the next part of IS in the next part of the coded sequence, at the receiving side, storing and continuing no more than Z≥2 alternative adopted sequences (AAS), closest to the Hamming metric to the adopted sequence, AAS is arithmetically decoded with control of conformity of current value of AAS to current permitted sub-intervals of decoding, selecting an alternative adopted sequence with the smallest metric value and decoding successive parts of the recovered information sequence are transmitted to the recipient.
EFFECT: high noise-immunity of transmitting next parts of the coded sequence when subjected to multiple transmission errors.
