FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to antenna structure elements, in particular to antenna fairings with possibility of forming a beam pattern located on vehicles, such as airborne vehicles, marine vehicles, ground vehicles and spacecrafts. Disclosed are a fairing, a fairing control system and a method for controlling the direction of electromagnetic radiation using a fairing. System for directing electromagnetic radiation of an antenna includes an antenna for emitting electromagnetic radiation and a fairing located near the antenna and at least partially surrounding the antenna, wherein the fairing has a window for passing electromagnetic radiation from the antenna to the outside of the fairing, and the electromagnetic radiation is directed based on the position of the window relative to the antenna. Fairing also contains a drive mechanism for rotation of the fairing in order to locate the said opening relative to the antenna for directing electromagnetic radiation.
EFFECT: enabling creation of directional antennae with high amplification factor, improved mass-and-dimension characteristics and high reliability.
