SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system and a method for non-invasive determination of egg properties. The system for determination of one or more egg properties before incubation contains at least one vacuum grip containing a pressure-discharged capacitor. In this case, the specified vacuum grip is made with the possibility of retention of an egg, using a suction system, while the specified pressure-discharged capacitor is located on the way of distribution of volatile organic compounds emitted by the egg, and the specified pressure-discharged capacitor is made with the possibility of catching collected volatile organic compounds. The system also contains a control unit made with the possibility of reception of data indicating that collected volatile organic compounds are scanned with electromagnetic radiation in THz range, and processing of the specified data for determination of a signature indicating at least one egg property, thus obtaining information data indicating at least one egg property.
EFFECT: possibility of distinguishing eggs containing embryos of male and female sex, as well as unfertilized eggs from the first day.
