FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aircrafts, in particular to moisture detection in porous materials in an aircraft, namely to a method, device and system for moisture detection in panels of an aircraft. The moisture detection system contains an electromagnetic radiation system, an infrared detection system and a controller communicating with the electromagnetic radiation system and the infrared detection system. The controller is made with the possibility of controlling the electromagnetic radiation system to transmit an electromagnetic radiation pulse and controlling the infrared detection system to record the amount of infrared radiation in response to the transmission of the electromagnetic radiation pulse using a time window. The electromagnetic radiation pulse contains a set of wavelengths absorbed with water molecules. The amount of infrared radiation indicates a moisture level.
EFFECT: accuracy of moisture detection in porous materials is increased.
