FIELD: control and measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to detection of moisture, in particular, in a composite sandwich panel for an aerospace vehicle. Essence: controlling the direction of the electromagnetic radiation beam on the composite sandwich panel. Electromagnetic radiation beam pulse contains a set of wavelengths absorbed by water molecules. Time of electromagnetic radiation beam supply is synchronized for heating of composite sandwich panel with time window in infrared detection system for registration of amount of infrared radiation. Amount of infrared radiation in the composite sandwich panel is recorded within the time window for the infrared detection system during heating of composite sandwich panel by pulse of electromagnetic radiation beam. Amount of infrared radiation indicates the level of moisture in the composite sandwich panel.
EFFECT: invention discloses a synchronized phased array and an infrared moisture detection system.
