METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ANALYZING CERVICAL IMAGE WITH HIGH RELIABILITY Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B1/303 G06T7/136 G06T7/174 G06T7/194

Abstract RU 2703507 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine, namely to devices and methods for semi-automated or automated detection, presentation and quantitative expression of a region with acetic whiteness for any automated systems of cervical image analysis. Disclosed is a medical image analysis system comprising a device for identifying a region with acetic whiteness for realizing the method, as well as a computer-readable medium which stores a computer program product comprising an encoding means for realizing steps of the method when launched on a computing device. Device has a zone identifier configured to identify a transformation area in the image using acetic acid by combining with an equivalent image using iodine of said image using acetic acid; identifier of acetic-white, made with possibility of identifying a section with exceeding of a predetermined minimum variation of whiteness inside said transformation zone, alignment of the identified section with said equivalent image with application of iodine and comparing the change in foreground to back plane image intensity after using acetic acid with changing the ratio of the foreground to the background of the equivalent image before applying acetic acid; and a region selector configured to make a decision based on said combination of said identified portion with said equivalent image using iodine on the type of iodine absorption of said identified region to determine whether said identified area is precancerous.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides improved automated image analysis, as well as reduced number of false alarm signals for vinegar-white areas.
