FIELD: electric transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to current collectors of vehicles. Contact insert for the current collector of the trolleybus is made in the form of a plate with a working part in the form of a chute corresponding to the shape of a contact wire, with symmetrical bells on ends. Side walls of the contact insert are solid and have a thickness in the working part equal to 31–35 % of the width of the contact insert. Depth of contact insert chute makes 41–70 % of contact wire diameter. Radius of said chute is 21–29 % larger than contact wire working surface radius.
EFFECT: technical result of disclosed invention is improved operational properties of contact insert and reduced wear of contact wire and bronze jaws.
