FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: methods and systems are proposed to ensure coordination of changing mode of cylinders disconnection and individual change of piston stroke in cylinders. In this case it is possible to combine benefits from use of variable working volume of engine and variable degree of compression. Engine can operate with several disconnected cylinders, and operating cylinders can operate without detonation for longer period, while ignition moment remains at level of optimum ignition moment. Thus, selective disconnection of cylinders can be used to reduce pump losses of engine, while changing at the same time degree of compression by changing stroke of cylinders to reduce thermal losses of engine, providing combined benefits.
EFFECT: technical result of synchronization and coordination of time of cylinders disconnection and change of cylinders stroke consists in possibility of significant increase in fuel economy.
