FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, in particular to ophthalmology. Method of direct mushroom-like keratoplasty involves excising the epithelial-stromal flap of the cornea, the remaining posterior layers and filling the formed bed of the recipient with a donor transplant. Recipient tissues are excised and the donor flap is cut out with the help of Moria trephine as a single unit. Note here that 8.5 mm diameter blade is replaced with 6.5 mm diameter blade and in reverse order, respectively, while retaining permanent fixation of trephine vacuum part throughout the whole period of cuts making.
EFFECT: application of the invention provides formation of reliable postoperative cicatrix and reduced level of induced astigmatism.
