FIELD: radar ranging and radio navigation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to passive radar ranging and can be used to determine range to radio-frequency scanning source and determination of azimuthal direction to radio-frequency scanning source in passive (semi-active) multi-position radar systems, containing at least three time-synchronized receiving points, with combined processing of information at one of receiving points. Technical result is achieved by measuring the radio-frequency source scanning period, calculating the radio-frequency source scanning angular velocity, measurement of time delays of consecutive irradiation of receiving points of the system, implementation of calculations of distances and azimuth directions to a scanning source of radio emission.

EFFECT: possibility of determining range and azimuthal direction to a scanning radio-frequency source without bearing measurement to a radio-frequency source using direction-finding devices.
