FIELD: image processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a virtual viewpoint image generation system. Result is achieved by the fact that the method of generating a virtual viewpoint image includes generating, by a first image processing device, first information for generating a virtual viewpoint image based on a first image captured by a first camera, generating, by the second image processing device, second information for generating a virtual viewpoint image based on a second image captured by the second camera; specifying a viewpoint in the virtual viewpoint image; and generating, by a third image processing device, a virtual viewpoint image corresponding to said viewpoint using first information and second information.
EFFECT: possibility of displaying the observed scene at different viewing angles.
