FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing copolymers of polyphenylenesulphide sulphones which can be used in making structural articles intended for use in electronics, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, etc. Method of producing copolyphenylene sulfide sulphones involves reacting a bisphenol, an alkali metal sulphide and 4-dihaloiddiaryl sulphone while heating in an organic solvent in the presence of an alkali metal carbonate and a catalyst. Bisphenol used is 4,4-dihydroxydiphenyl. 4-dihaloiddiaryl sulphone used is 4,41-dichlorodiphenylsulphone. As sulphide of alkali metal Na2S⋅9H2O is used. Excess Na2S⋅9H2O is added to the reaction in amount of 5–15 %. As a solvent, dimethylacetamide is used. Alkali metal carbonate used is K2CO3. Al as catalyst is Al2O3. Bisphenol and alkali metal sulphide are taken in molar ratio from 4:1 to 2.22:1. Alkali metal carbonate and 4-dihaloiddiaryl sulphone are taken in molar ratio of 1.5:1. Reaction is carried out while heating the organic solvent to boiling point. Obtained copolymer solution undergoes ultracentrifugation. Reaction solution is then sprayed into the distilled water – isopropyl alcohol mixture at ratio of 10:1.

EFFECT: invention increases molecular weight of copolymers of polyphenylenesulphide sulphones, reduces synthesis time and optimizes the step for purifying copolymers.
