LOW-TRAUMATIC TRANSORBITAL APPROACH WITH AN EXTRADURAL RESECTION OF AN ANTERIOR INCLINED PROCESS IN AN ANEURISM OF AN UPPER BASILAR ARTERY Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B17/00

Abstract RU 2704883 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurosurgery. Craniotome is used to perform minimally invasive transorbital (keyhole) craniotomy 2×2 cm. Orbit roof is removed by means of bone cutters, and extradural resection of anterior inclined process is performed by means of high-speed boron. Dura mater (DM) is exposed in an arc-like manner. After the main stage of the operation is completed, the DM is closed tightly, the bone is set in place and fixed with titanium retainers and/or a metal plate. Soft tissues are closed in layers and a continuous intradermal suture is applied.

EFFECT: method enables reducing access injuries, reducing the length of the operation, reducing the length of patient's postoperative recovery, reducing traumatization of brain tissues in neurosurgical operations.
