SUBSTANCE: method for coding motion information comprises: determining applicability of using spatial prediction units motion information spatially associated with current prediction unit and time prediction units temporarily associated therewith; in case the number of applicable spatial prediction units and time prediction units is less than a predetermined number, generation of movement information of an additional possible version, such that the total number of motion information units of possible versions reaches a predetermined number, by using the movement information of the applicable spatial prediction units and time prediction units; and encoding motion information of current prediction unit using predetermined number of motion information units of possible versions.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of decoding the motion information of the current block.
