Method of decoding motion information includes the steps when: it is determined whether the information of spatial prediction units motion, which are spatially arranged together with the current prediction unit, and the motion information for temporary prediction units, which are temporarily arranged together with the current prediction; when the number of motion information for spatial prediction units and motion information for temporary prediction units is less than the predetermined number of 'n', form the motion information for additional possible version by using the available motion information for spatial prediction units and motion information for temporary prediction units in such a way that the total number of fragments of the motion information for possible versions is equal to n.
EFFECT: ensuring higher efficiency of compressing images.
