FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermal physics and can be used in development of test equipment, providing heating of object to high temperature (2,000–2,200 K) for relatively short time interval ~20–30 s and further cooling of object. Device for thermal testing of heat-shielding materials to temperatures of 2,000 K comprises an infrared heater with emitters, a heating control system, a cooling system, a temperature meter, a holder for placing a sample of the tested material, an electromechanical system for moving the cartridge from the heating zone to the cooling zone and back. Along perimeter of infrared heater there are heat-resistant screens with possibility of tight pressing to them of heat-shield holder with specimen of tested heat-shielding material. All elements are arranged in vacuum chamber with inspection window in cooling zone. Emitters are made of composite material, electromechanical system consists of flexible rods, hinges, lever on rack and electromechanical mechanism connected with one end of lever. At that, the lever is equipped with an anvil, the electromechanical system is additionally equipped with a return spring of greater elongation with rods or guide plates.

EFFECT: high information value of the obtained test results of heat-shielding material at its heating to high temperatures (2,000–2,200 K) and its subsequent cooling and monitoring the behavior of its surface during cooling.
