FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ecology and can be used in an environment monitoring system in the zone of development of oil and gas deposits in regions of the Far North. For this purpose, bioindication methods are used to determine presence of indicators in samples of medium, the presence of which indicates undisturbed environmental conditions, and designate them as positive indicators (Ipos). Presence of indicators, the presence of which indicates a disturbance of the medium, is also determined and denoted as negative indicators in the area of oil and gas production (Nneg) and in this section (Ineg). State of the environment at the site is assessed by calculating total score (K) by formula K = Σ(n Ipos) + (Nneg-Σ(n Ineg). Then a reference scale is formed with its breakdown by classes of quality of medium. Number of quality classes corresponds to the number of indicator types on the section, wherein the value K, which is equal to the number of indicator types, corresponds to the reference quality class of the medium, value K = 0 defines class of quality of medium corresponding to ecological catastrophe, and intermediate values K define quality classes corresponding to different degree of disturbance of environmental conditions.
EFFECT: invention provides higher accuracy and reliability of environmental assessment results in regions of the Far North.
