FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a continuous method for the production of halogenated isoolefin copolymer, including: polymerization of at least one isoolefin monomer and at least one copolymerized unsaturated monomer in an organic diluent to obtain halogenated isoolefin copolymer in an organic medium; introduction of the organic medium into contact with an aqueous medium containing a compound of counter-agglomerate, characterized by a lower critical dissolution temperature; removal or partial removal of the organic diluent to obtain an aqueous suspension of halogenated isoolefin copolymer; dissolution of the aqueous suspension in an organic solvent in a closed unit to obtain polymerizate of unsaturated halogenated copolymer in water, and phase separation of water from polymerizate in the unit; introduction of separated polymerizate of halogenated isoolefin copolymer into contact with a halogenating agent and an aqueous solution of an oxidizer in the form of C1-20 organic peracid to obtain a two-phase reaction medium including an organic phase and an aqueous phase, while the oxidizer in the form of organic peracid is capable of converting halogenated hydrogen into free halogen; and extraction of halogenated isoolefin copolymer.

EFFECT: halogenation method is continuous and leads in the result to obtainment of reduced fouling of technological equipment, cleaner halogenated isoolefin copolymer, and increased use of halogen in the absence of the need for the presence of a low level of water content in a halogenation medium, and in the absence of the need for use of a surfactant for dispersion of an oxidizer in an organic phase of the halogenation medium.
