SUBSTANCE: aqueous binder composition for mineral fibers contains component (i) in form of one or more compounds selected from compounds of formula and any of their salts:

where R1 corresponds to H, alkyl, monohydroxyalkyl, dihydroxyalkyl, polyhydroxyalkyl, alkylene, alkoxy, amine; compounds of formula and any of their salts:

where R2 corresponds to H, alkyl, monohydroxyalkyl, dihydroxyalkyl, polyhydroxyalkyl, alkylene, alkoxy, amine; component (ii) in form of one or more compounds selected from ammonia, amines or any salts thereof; component (iii) in form of one or more carbohydrates; component (iv) in form of one or more compounds selected from sulphamic acid, sulphamic acid derivatives or any of its salts.
EFFECT: invention relates to an aqueous binder for mineral fiber articles, a method of making a product from mineral fibers bonded together using said binder and a mineral fiber article containing mineral fibers in contact with the cured binder.
